Nile C. Kinnick Scholarship – Est. 1997

Now in its 25th year, the Nile C. Kinnick scholarship aims to reward men with outstanding high school careers entering their first year at the University of Iowa. The scholarship is named for Nile Kinnick, Iowa’s lone Heisman Trophy winner and a brother of Phi Kappa Psi. Nile was known as a well-rounded individual and this is who the scholarship is intended to reward. In 2021, we will be awarding a total of $15,000 in scholarships. If you know someone who is a worthy candidate and meets the criteria, please encourage them to apply!

Covid-19 Update

Historically, the Kinnick Scholarship interview process has been conducted at the Phi Kappa Psi Iowa Alpha fraternity chapter house. Considering Orientation has shifted online this year due to Covid-19, the Kinnick Scholarship will be shifting to all virtual interviews for the first round of interviews. The second round of interviews will be held online or in-person during the applicant’s orientation time. The 2021 Kinnick Scholarship Interviews will be conducted over Zoom, an online video conferencing platform.
